Training: Green Island Ambassadors
Help connect people to conservation! McKenzie River Trust welcomes our community to Green Island on the second Saturday of the month from March through December, and we couldn't do it without the support of volunteers. Through our Living River Exploration Days, visitors are welcomed to come and enjoy all that this 1,100-acre conservation area has to offer. Volunteer ambassadors are critical in helping visitors to feel welcome and oriented to the site. All Volunteer Ambassadors must attend a volunteer training before participating as a volunteer. During the training, we'll prepare you with the tools to help make this special conservation area more accessible to everyone in our community. Once trained, you can choose which weekends and times of day work for you to help out.
The best way to navigate to Green Island is by using Google Maps Green Island is located just outside of the city of Coburg off of Green Island Rd. The turn onto Green Island Rd is a bit tricky. Coming from Eugene, you will pass Johnson Brothers Nursery. From here, continue straight. A short bit further, the road will take a sharp right and you'll need to continue straight. At the beginning of the curve, continue straight toward the "Bottom Loop Rd" sign. At this point, you will be on Green Island Rd. Continue straight onto the gravel road ahead and through the gate at the end of the road. We'll have directional signage out for you to find the gathering area.
Thank you for signing up to volunteer.
